Festival d’été de Québec Announces Additional Artists for 2018 Season

Festival d’été de Québec (FEQ) recently announced a stellar list of more than 20 new artists added to the final roster of its exciting 2018 season, which is showcased in 10 indoor and outdoor venues. From the sizzling metal of Bullet For My Valentine to the sultry sounds of Camila Cabello, highlights include American rappers Lil Yachty and Machine Gun Kelly, heavy metal with Canadian singer Sebastian Bach, the soft rock of iconic group Air Supply, the electronic and French touch of Møme, the trap sound of Toronto rapper Killy, and the Ontario-based band Silverstein.

Headliners previously announced for the 2018 season feature Beck, Jane Birkin, Brockhampton, The Chainsmokers, Dave Matthews Band, Foo Fighters, Future, Jethro Tull, Cyndi Lauper, Lorde, Shawn Mendes, Phoenix, Sturgill Simpson, The Weeknd, and Neil Young.

Bell Stage on the Plains of Abraham

Camila Cabello, the world pop phenomenon who became a chart-topper after the success of Havana and Never Be the Same, will be in Québec City for the very first time on July 8, preceding Shawn Mendes. Welsh band Bullet For My Valentine, which has sold more than 5 million albums worldwide, will perform with the post-hardcore group Silverstein as an opener for Avenged Sevenfold on July 14. July 7 will showcase the new hip-hop generation (and replace previously announced artist Busta Rhymes) with the eccentric rapper Lil Yachty, known for his collaborations with Migos, Gucci Mane, and Macklemore. He’ll warm up the stage with Canadian rappers Killy and Loud for hip-hop star Future. On July 6, blues and psychedelic folk-rock band Kurt Vile and The Violators performs between Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real and Neil Young. A former member of The War On Drugs, Kurt Vile reached the Billboard 200 as a solo act before returning to a band format. The Bell Stage is one of the largest outdoor stages in North America, located on the Plains of Abraham, a historic battlefield park overlooking the St. Lawrence River.

Loto-Québec Stage at Parc de la Francophonie

Australian soft-rock duo Air Supply, the world-revered 80s band that sold more than 40 million albums in its 40-year career, offers a nostalgia rendezvous at this open-air venue on July 11. Ohio rapper Machine Gun Kelly, who continues to blossom in both film and hip-hop, joins the line-up as a headliner on July 12. He is responsible for the international success of the hit tune Bad Things and for accumulating video clips that were watched millions of times on YouTube.

Impérial Bell

The flamboyant glam metal artist Sebastian Bach, former frontman of the band Skid Row, will perform on July 7 in this landmark concert hall and will be preceded by Canadian blues-rock group The Standstills. Completing the Nocturnes series presented daily at 11:30 p.m., the French DJ Møme appears on July 9 with his electro-organic beats, and Clément Bazin(Live) hits the stage on July 12 to offer his electro-tropical vibe. Forest Boys and Québécois funk band VoyageFunktastique will be showcased on July 6.

FIBE Stage at Cœur du FEQ (Heart of FEQ) – Free Concerts

New discoveries are expected at this outdoor stage that presents FREE local and international music treasures during happy hour. Artists not to be missed include Les Chercheurs d’Or on July 10, winner of the third part of the FEQ Apéros contest. The winner of the final competition will be revealed in early May and will perform on this stage on July 12.

District St-Joseph

Opening its doors for more music and dancing after the Festival’s shows, the venue’s Late Nights lineup will perform at 11:30 p.m. and include KenLo Craqnuques (member of Alaclair Ensemble), DJ Max-E, Dj Shieldie, CHX Sound System, Magnetic Point / Lewis D, Justin White, Funk Connection, Phranco, Malcolm, and Gab Rhome & MIM.

Festival Passes

The Festival pass (transferable) provides entry to all shows during the entire 11-day Festival for less than $80 U.S. ($100 CAN) until June 5, and less than $85 U.S after. Starting on June 6, 2018, the Festival pass will be available for $110 CAN. Festival Passes can be purchased at www.infofestival.com/en/ and by phone at 1-855-800-3347 (toll-free), with a limit of eight passes per transaction. They will also be available at the box office during the Festival, pending availability. Children up to 11 years old accompanied by an adult may enter for FREE.
