After making headlines in Chicago Tribune & Forbes.com, The Boy Illinois is raising the bar to celebrate Volkswagen launch of the 2019 Jetta event with a major performance on Saturday, May 12th. The Jetta Haus Chicago will go from May 11th – May 13th at Zhou B. Arts Center (1029 W 35th St, Chicago, IL 60609) with live music from incredible local talent, illuminated closed-course test drives and more.

Along with his major performance, The Boy Illinois drops an introspective message addressing Chicago’s local climate and talks about mental health in black communities with new video “PTSD,” (Post Traumatic Slave Disorder). The song title derives from the book “Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome” by Joy Degruy who addresses “the residual impacts of generations of slavery and opens up the discussion of how the black community can use the strengths we have gained in the past to heal in the present.”  Shot and directed by DGainz, PTSD visual displays a melancholy perspective of the hood, showing the harsh realities within the lives of urban communities of America. With the wise spoken words of J. Ivy backing The Boy Illinois, the dynamic duo gives you a clear lesson of the past, present, and future.
