The New Toronto is a movement or hip-hop and popular artist who have stormed the scene often rising to the top.  Also known as The Six, Toronto has broken away from the days of heavy underground hip hop. Each artist uses a reggae, r&b, and rap formula to rise to the top of pop culture.   The wave of New Toronto is a movement involving the pursuit of feminine passions, booze, and the tranquility triggered by excessive West Indian influences in moderation.  A head rush. Overall the wave is an independent euphoria brought on by heavy egos or stark confidence. Drake epitomizes these aspects as a coveted artist and celebrity.

Drake breaks down recent beef and his newly publicized fatherhood on multiple tracks including, “Emotionless.”  Originating the New Toronto movement and sound, as the first artist out of Canada to dominate the airwaves.  Drake has been cosigned from music heavyweights from J. Prince to rap icon Lil Wayne.  Drake pushes his label OVO Sound into the forefront behind some of the hottest production in the game.  Drake’s known industry beefs have ranged from DMX, Kendrick Lamar, Meek Mill, and most recently Pusha T.

Scorpion enters the mainstream as summer’s most essential album.  October’s Very Own has collaborated with Jordan Brand, Timberland, and Louis Vuitton in the last few years. The label has released six albums, two of which were certified platinum.  After 27 nominations Drake has secured 3 Grammy’s.  His complex lyricism and r&b vibrato has introduced a new genre of artists and producers out of Toronto.

New single “I’m upset,” spoofed on Degrassi, a Canadian television sitcom which he appeared in until 2005.  “God’s Plan,” debuted at number one dismantling the Billboard charts.  As Drake’s fifth studio album, the double disc, 25-track album cranks two iconic features from Jay-z and a posthumous Michael Jackson and Aaliyah.  Drake merges genres using his popular influences to make his own lane in the music industry.  He cements Canadian culture into the mainstream as an ambassador and innovator.  Drake provides excessive heat for the summertime.  As New Toronto reigns supreme. Available on all streaming platforms.
