Caitlyn Scarlett – Red Tape, Vol. 2
Following on from the success of her recent summer pop track ‘B.I.G’, described by The Line of Best Fit as ‘a perfect balance with catchy, clever pop lyrics and the relentless punch of its club-ready beats’, Caitlyn Scarlett is pleased to announce details of a brand new EP ‘Red Tape, Vol. 2’ due 29th June. On the 5-track EP Caitlyn works with in demand producers Raf Riley, Fred Cox, CallMeTheKidd, Toby Scott and Eddy Atlantis; and once again portrays her natural talent and knack for great melodies and songwriting.
Caitlyn details the EP: “Welcome to the 2nd instalment of my Trilogy of EP’s called The Red Tapes. This a collection of songs that have been born out of an emotional transition of sorts. Realising that you’re in your early twenties, still young enough to fuck up but now undeniably old-enough to know better is weird. I’ve bounced back and forth between a toddler and bitter old lady lately, trying to figure out my place in the world, as a woman, an artist, a lover/friend, a millennial…or just another person on this planet who is really sure how they got here or what to do with their feelings. Take a listen and lets be ageless together.”
Following the acclaim of her previous EP ‘Red Tape, Vol 1’, Caitlyn garnered support from the likes of The Line of Best Fit, Clash, Wonderland, The 405, Huw Stephens, Radio X and BBC Introducing. BBC Introducing recently selected Caitlyn to perform on their stage at Radio 1 Biggest Weekend in Swansea and her previous single Ornaments, taken from this EP, has just been selected as BBC Introducing’s Track Of The Week on Radio 1 from June 22nd. Having already amassed over 7 million streams on Spotify after being included in New Music Friday playlists in 10 territories, the young singer-songwriter finds herself collaborating with producers and artists such as MNEK, Ray Blk, Banx & Ranx, DJ Dahi (Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean), MelO x (Beyoncé) and Levi Lennox – (M.I.A, Krept & Konan, Zayn Malik).
‘Red Tape Vol 2’ is a continuation of a career full of promise. Born and raised in a small village called Bray, Caitlyn started writing her own songs at the age of nine. A self-taught guitarist and pianist raised in a musical household, she left home at seventeen for the bright lights of London, a move that looks to have paid off in spades as Caitlyn becomes one of the UK’s hotly anticipated acts for 2018.Tweet
