0DeMarcus Cousins Former Coach Discusses His Loyalty
Yesterday former Pelican Center DeMarcus Cousins decided to sign a one year contract worth $5.3 million with the World Championships Golden State Warriors. After multiple sources stating that he was not offered a contract by any teams. So, DeMarcus took it upon himself to reach out to the Warriors. The Warriors already have a stacked roster which includes four other all-stars Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
So, why did he receive any offers during free agency, well Cousins is nursing an Achilles injury that will have him out until early December most likely. The crazy part about this story is it was highly expected from him to return to the New Orleans Pelicans. Obviously, that did not happen and Cousins had to make a business decision. Basketball Society’s Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson recently Cousin’s high school coach, Otis Hughley. During the interview, Hughley talks about Cousin’s loyalty and business
“He’s loyal, he wants to be in New Orleans, that I know,” Hughley told Robinson in late May on the Scoop B Radio Podcast. Hughley would continue “I would like to see him play with AD again, but the way the business model was set up, and the salary cap may make it tougher for New Orleans to step out there.”
