Stephanie Sounds Speaks Straight From The Heart With Upcoming Single ‘Hiding Away’

Stephanie Sounds –  the girl with ‘THAT’ voice, spurred by life’s harsh realities –  is back with ‘Hiding Away’, the second release from her well-received debut album ‘Much Better’- LISTEN HERE

‘Hiding Away’ is a catchy, hypnotic song with a very personal message.  In her own words Stephanie says “Over the years I’ve loved and trusted friends who had bad intentions for me. I’ve been hurt a lot. So this song is about me hiding from those people and protecting myself.  The end of the song is a declaration that I won’t hide anymore”.

The beautifully-crafted song – which well documents the subject of self-discovery and self-acceptance – is smothered with silky vocals, close harmonies and the fusion of a catchy ethnic rhythm crossed with hypnotic folk acoustic guitar patterns. With a bold bass line, the track also features bass player extraordinaire Rick Leon James who has worked with many names, including Tinie Tempah and Wretch 32 as well as producing multi award-winning saxophone player Yolanda Brown’s most recent album.

A daughter of the first family of UK Gospel, the East-London born songstress began singing with Europe’s famous London Community Gospel Choir from the tender age of nine, under the watchful eye of her father Rev Bazil Meade. Her earliest touring duties starting at age 11, training in the intense soul-drenched atmosphere that only a gospel choir can deliver and travelling the globe honing her ‘strong soprano with the husky undertone.’

Stephanie Sounds is also an upcoming designer and has launched has her clothing brand, ‘SO London Boutique’.

At the age of just 19, she began providing backing vocals for some of the world’s leading artists, from Celine Dion and Will Young to Jessie J, Blur, Florence and The Machine and Kasabian as well as touring extensively with Daniel Bedingfield and his chart-topping sister Natasha Bedingfield, Lemar, Jamelia, Westlife and McFly. Her time with dance outfit Faithless has broaden her appetite for real diverse musicality and expression, as featured in single, ‘Hiding Away’.

As well as a vocal phenomenon on stage, Stephanie is also an up and coming fashion designer, and has launched her clothing brand, ‘SO London Boutique’(www.solondonboutique.com), which makes trendy and edgy fashion using African prints.

Already a hit amongst her peers and other artists and creatives in her sphere, who frequently request clothes for their performances and events, her fashions are growing and beginning to catch the eye of people across the world on blogs, social media and big stages worldwide at festivals and events.

‘Hiding Away’ will be available on all major digital/download sites from 17th August. Have a Listen below:
