Blanco White Premieres New Video for ‘Nocturne’

“The lightness of touch is sheer Andalusian, but those lyrics are etched in London’s Autumnal grey” – CLASH

“A worldly man who has honed his craft” – WONDERLAND MAGAZINE

White has shared a new video for the haunting serenade, “Nocturne.” The clip’s an ethereal gaze upon nature’s quiet beauty and its nearly eerie power, directed, filmed and edited by Javier Lara and starring Alejandro Albaladejo. The release precedes Blanco White’s return to the US this fall, including key plays in New York CityDC and LA. The full run is detailed below.

Upon its initial release, “Nocturne” quickly gathered international attention and dominated Spotify’s tastemaking playlists, including Acoustic Chill, Fresh Folk, Deep Dark Indie, New Music Friday and several more. Edwards says of the song, “For me, Nocturne is a very visual song. The lyrics are mostly descriptive and were drawn from memories and images of night that felt triggered by the chords and feel of the music when I first played it. Written late after not enough sleep, I wanted to communicate a feeling of delirium throughout the song whilst at the same time exploring the surreal clarity and otherworldly colours of night in a remote place.”

White is the solo project of Londoner, Josh Edwards. Having studied guitar in Cádiz, Spain and charango in Sucre, Bolivia, Edwards blends elements of Latin American and Andalusian music with influences closer to home. The result is beyond exotic; it’s otherworldly. He released his self-produced debut EP The Wind Rose on Yucatan Records in early 2016. He recorded his second EP Colder Heavens later that same year, with producer Ian Grimble (Bear’s Den, Matt Corby, Daughter), and released it last spring to critical delight. The rising English artists has only two EPs to his name, but has already earned over 40 million streams, sold out shows in NYC, Amsterdam, London and Switzerland, and received promising recognition from The Independent, CLASH, and more.
