0DoorDash Announces 2 New Exciting, Cost-Effective Features
Founded in 2013 by Stanford students Andy Fang, Stanley Tang, Tony Xu and Evan Moore, DoorDash is an on-demand destination connecting customers with their favorite local restaurants. The company currently has well over 800 employees and a valuation over $1 billion. Earlier this year, DoorDash struck partnerships with Walmart and Chipotle Mexican Grill, showing its ability to work with corporations and independent vendors alike.
Today, August 8th, DoorDash announced its first subscription offering, DashPass. DashPass is intended for DoorDash users looking to save time by ordering from their favorite restaurants yet avoid delivery fees. For $9.99 a month, DoorDash fans can subscribe to DashPass and receive free delivery on orders priced at $15 and up. In turn, a DashPass membership pays for itself with just 3 orders per month. The subscription also permits users to cancel anytime, no strings attached.
In addition to the aforementioned savings related to avoiding delivery fees, DashPass subscribers will receive exclusive promotions and freebies from DoorDash. This will include opportunities for free food and free drinks, in addition to surprise discounts from participating DoorDash restaurants.
Another part of DoorDash’s August 8th announcement was that the popular on-demand restaurant delivery service now offers free pickups. Providing consumers with more flexibility, affordability and convenience, DoorDash users can now choose “Pickup” as another option for no fee. In turn, you can order your favorite “on the go” meals without having to make a call, wait in line, or pay a delivery fee.
Congratulations go out to DoorDash from the Hype on its on-going growth and improvement.
