Fashion Beyond The Legal Limit : SAGE

Budding teenage designer Sage Willows might not be old enough to drink, but that doesn’t stop him from pushing the legal limits. He is unlike most kids his age, and he is definitely not like most fashion designers, but Sage Willows uses his unique identity to stand out amongst the crowd of creatives.

While most design processes begin in the studio or LA’s fashion district, SAGE begins his distinctive design process with a visit to the world-renowned vineyards of Napa California. Across his 3-season career, each collection shares a common thread (literally): wine aged textiles. After hand selecting his wines with the nation’s top sommeliers, preferably merlots and cabs, he ages his fabrics in barrels of wine for up to 2 weeks resulting in unique, multidimensional coloring and subtly distresses the fabric.

His new SS19 collection ‘Sensual Inducement” debuted in Paris this summer and ranges from his staple wine aged pieces, to new silk garments and pant options all with his personal artwork.
