Red Bull BC One B-Boying Competition Hits Boston on September 1st!

On Saturday, September 1st, the top B-Boys and B-Girls in the US will come together to compete in the highly anticipated BC One Cypher Boston 2018 competition.

Breakers will be competing in a local qualifier to identify the top 16 breakers who will move on to the official competition that night, where they will battle head-to-head in intense match up’s.

Ultimately the winner of the Red Bull BC One Cypher in Boston will be flown to the Last Chance Cypher in Zürich, taking place on September 27, where they will represent the US and fight for the one, coveted spot in the World Final on September 29th, 2018.

Select B-Boys who competing in the cypher include: P Nut hailing from Illinois, Pop from NYC, Brian Pistols out of Boston, Box Won, Ookie and SupaJosh all from Philadelphia, Wealthy from Minnesota, and Icey Ives traveling all the way from Alaska. Hosted by Akrobatik, with DJ Lean Rock and DJ Fleg on the decks, all performers will bring an arsenal of moves and tricks to give it their all in the final remaining US qualifying cypher to advance to Zurich.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the family of Valentin (Float) Becerril in an effort to support his family in their time of need. “Float,” a member of the legendary Boston crew “Floor Lords,” passed away suddenly on August 3rd, 2018. Ahead of the competition, a special tribute performance will be performed in honor of Float.

On Saturday, September 1st, doors will open at Royale Boston at 4pm but the official competition kicks off at 7pm. Tickets can be purchased here for $5. For anyone who can’t make the event, make sure to tune in to the BC One Facebook page that night at 7:10pm!
