Friday 21st September, London: Today Zimbabwean singer and producer Bantu releases single Roll With Me – the first release on new label Blue Future, founded by Jonas Blue and his manager in partnership with Virgin EMI Records.

Hailing from Zimbabwe, Grammy nominated singer and producer Bantu shares his management team with Sean Paul and has produced and written for some of the world’s biggest artists (including Jason Derulo, Rita Ora, A$AP Rocky, Camilla Cabello, Pitbull and Chris Brown).

Written by Bantu and critically acclaimed songwriter, musician, poet and philanthropist, Shungudzo, Roll With Me is co-produced by Bantu with Jonas Blue and features the vocals of Shungudzo and ZieZie (who is currently enjoying success with his single Fine Girl).

To celebrate the release of Roll With Me, Bantu has shared a Dance video accompanying the track ahead of the official music video set for release next month. Directed by James Davis II and Bantu and choreographed by Lindiwe Rose, the Roll With Me Dance video features dancers Brooke Boyd, Jessenia Velazquez, Andranita Smith-Shannon and Kassy Francis showcasing varying dance moves coming out of Africa at the moment, (including the shaku from Nigeria, and the head vosho and the gwara gwara from South Africa).

Bantu released his first single as an artist, Holiday, in 2016 and his debut EP Africa for the Summer in August 2017.  Roll With Me continues in the vein of these debut releases, reflecting Bantu’s multicultural background with a collage of infectious sounds, rhythms, and narratives. It follows the 2018 release of his Just a Little, (which was featured in the Netflix hit series “On My Block”) and Jackie Chan, (that is featured on the new FIFA 19 soundtrack).

ABOUT BLUE FUTURE

Launched by Jonas Blue and his manager, Aaron Ross, (Infinite Future) in partnership with Virgin EMI Records, Blue Future further solidifies their bond with the company who publish Jonas and to whom he’s signed exclusively. L.A. producer Dark Heart is the first signing to Blue Future’s publishing arm, while Zimbabwean singer and producer Bantu is their first signing to the label side.

ABOUT JONAS BLUE

Since Fast Car exploded around the world in 2016, London born producer Jonas Blue has proved to be a musician with the Midas touch. Jonas has gone on to produce a steady string of blockbuster singles (Rise, Mama, Perfect Strangers, Fast Car) despite bucking the trend for using A-List talent by hand picking previously unheard-of artists to feature on his tracks.  Latest single ‘Rise’ has spent 16 weeks on the UK singles chart and achieved over 500 million global streams – continuing a hot streak that has seen him accrue over 5 billion streams worldwide and 30 million single sales globally. Jonas also has 4 BRIT award nominations has over 85 platinum certifications around the world.  Away from songwriting and producing for himself and other artists, Jonas has also remixed tracks for the likes of Sigrid and James Bay as well as founding his own label Blue Future. Jonas has toured the world DJing and most recently completed an incredibly successful summer residency at new Ibiza superclub Hï.

ABOUT SHUNGUDZO

Raised in Zimbabwe, the Los Angeles-based artist has lived many lives – a stint on Zimbabwe’s national gymnastics team; a Stanford University engineering major; a political journalist. Her true passion, however, has always been writing. Shun’s maiden voyage “Long Live the Billionaire” is a potent, Dylan-esque protest song, written from the perspective of a child in a warzone talking to a soldier in the road and described as an “immigrants rallying cry” by TIME Magazine. It received spins on Beats 1 and Australia’s Triple J. Since then, she has written and featured on Rudimental’s album title track “Toast to our Differences” and collaborated with My Morning Jacket’s frontman, Jim James on his “Eternally Even” album and has had a song featured on the coveted Fifty Shades soundtrack. Most recently Shun released a debut EP with an intriguing new collective called ASL, that she fronts with one of her frequent collaborators, John Ryan.

ABOUT ZIEZIE

Croydon based 19 year old ZieZie (of Congolese descent) first starting making waves with his 2016 independently released ‘Mingle’ which notched up over 1 million views on Youtube. After inking a deal Sony Music and spending time in the studio with production duo ill Blu, ZieZie has honed in on crafting his infusion of Afrobeat productions, dancehall melodies & the high energy of UK Rap. His latest single ‘Fine Girl’ is sitting pretty with 1.5 million Spotify streams, but he strives for so much more with his music. ZieZie’s magnetic force and undeterred focus on music sets him apart and, with a debut album planned for this year, an exciting 2018 is on his horizon.
