0How Aviation Gin Has Partnered With AMC Theatres & The New Movie “A Simple Favor”
Earlier today the new Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick movie A Simple Favor, as based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Darcey Bell, opened nationwide. Directed by Paul Feig from a screenplay by Jessica Sharzer, Blake Lively’s mysterious character Emily is a big fan of Ryan Reynolds’ Aviation Gin, just like Lively herself is. Emily/Lively drinks Aviation throughout the movie.
In celebration of the film, AMC Theatres offered the Killer Collins cocktail — a watermelon riff on the classic Tom Collins — as available for movie goers to sip while enjoying A Simple Favor. I asked Travis Tober, the National Director of Education for Davos Brands, about this unique collaboration: “It’s refreshing to see the classic, simple Gin Martini back in style and on the big screen.”
Tober continued: “The film also features a nice reference to Duke’s in London, which every cocktail bartender knows is the holy grail of the martini. The light Tom Collins gets a fresh update with watermelon, complementing the lavender and sarsaparilla in Aviation.”
The recipe and overall process to make the Killer Collins, you ask?
– 2 oz. of Aviation Gin
– 1/2 oz. Sun Orchard Fresh Lemon Juice
– 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
– 1 oz. Watermelon Puree
– Shake and strain
– Top with 2 oz. of Club Soda
– Garnish with a Lemon Wheel
