The Hershey Company’s John Baker On The Past, Present & Future Of Hershey’s Chocolate

Statistically speaking, Americans are estimated to consume more than 2.8 billion pounds of chocolate each year. And when you think of American chocolate companies, odds are that Hershey’s and The Hershey Company come to mind, which is impressive for a company founded 124 years ago in 1894.

Milton S. Hershey was also the founder of Hershey, Pennsylvania, a community that he developed to enrich the lives of his employees. On September 13th — what would have been Milton S. Hershey’s 161st birthday — many of the company’s employees took to neighborhoods and workplaces all over the United States with the mission of helping to “melt the distance between people.”

John Baker — a second-generation Hershey employee born and raised in Hershey, Pennsylvania — spoke to me about the work done on September 13th, the history of The Hershey Company and what is coming up for the company. Highlights from that Q&A can be seen in the video embedded below, while more on the legendary chocolate company can be found online at www.hersheys.com.
