A Look At J. Crew’s Wonderful Work With One Warm Coat

Nothing is more in style than helping others and as temperatures drop, One Warm Coat — one of the nation’s leading independent coat drive organizations — and J. Crew have a new promotion that will leave you looking good and feeling good. Now through December 25th, every customer who donates a gently worn coat to a J. Crew store nationwide will receive $25 off a purchase of $125 or more.

Why is this important, you ask? For the nearly 15 percent of Americans living in poverty, a warm winter coat is a budget “extra.” Health experts report that even a 2-degree drop in body temperature results in reduced heart rate, loss of coordination, and confusion. Adults cannot work effectively and children find it difficult to learn. For most, a warm coat solves the problem. With this staggering statistic in mind, One Warm Coat delivers more than five million coats a year to those in need, in addition to supporting over 4,000 coat drives and is now excited to partner with J. Crew on their second annual coat drive. In 2017 alone, J.Crew collected over 12,000 coats in stores nationwide.

“Our partnership with One Warm Coat last year was a resounding success: with our combined efforts, One Warm Coat was able to help over 200,000 people keep warm,” began Vanessa Holden, Chief Marketing Officer of J.Crew. She continued: “Our customers responded in droves. We’re thrilled to bring back the program as we head into the holidays — when so many are in need — and to engage the passionate people behind One Warm Coat as our latest ‘crew.’ These team members are agents of positivity who make it easy for people to do good in their communities. They inspire unity and action!”

Added Beth DeWolf, President and Chief Executive Officer of One Warm Coat: “We are thrilled to be partnering with J. Crew again this year… J. Crew made such a big impact with their program last season, getting warm coats to so many people who needed them. We are grateful for their dedication and excited to see how much warmth will be provided this year.”
