COASTCITY & Luis Fonsi – Pa la Calle

COASTCITY & Luis Fonsi Premiere Special Collaboration ‘Pa La Calle’
Duo COASTCITY is back and this time they joined forces with superstar Luis Fonsi to release a unique urban pop track, “Pa La Calle”.
COASTCITY (Jean Rodríguez and Danny Flores) is a Latin Grammy-nominated artist/production duo based in Miami, Florida. Luis Fonsi is a Puerto Rican Latin sensation behind “Despacito” Not too long ago, they released a music video for their Latino pop tune, entitled, “Pa la Calle“.

Pa La Calle” is a song that the pair always felt should have been theirs. The track was cut during a recording session with Prince Royce, but was never used. “We also recorded and loved the song, but we just kept it for us,” says COASTCITY’s Jean Rodriguez.
But, this collaboration goes beyond being a music business for Luis Fonsi (real name Luis Alfonso Rodriguez) and for Rodriguez. It represents both brothers finally finding the perfect time to record a song together.
“People always asked us when we were going to record together and we always said ‘when the time is right,” said Rodriguez. “And after ‘Despacito’ we felt that it was already the moment because he [Fonsi] is doing what is more my style.”
The song and the music video harnesses the essence of COASTCITY and Fonsi, who grew up in Orlando, Fl. but is of Puerto Rican descent. “The video represents “la fiebre” which is what we call street car race and a subculture in Puerto Rico,” says Danny Flores of COASTCITY.
The Marlon Peña-directed video finds Danny Flores seated inside an inflatable pool filled with water. He rings a bell and imagines a sexy female model bringing him a bottle of champagne on a silver tray. Reality settles in, and the model transforms into a disgruntled woman with a beauty mask on her face. Behind them is an RV.
The following scenes find Jean Rodríguez getting dressed on his tour bus. He calls up Luis Fonsi while Fonsi is getting suited inside his tour bus parked behind Rodríguez’s bus. The two men meet outside. For a chauffeured ride, they call up Flores, and he pulls up in a luxury vehicle.
This is the first time Fonsi has worked with his younger brother, Rodriguez, and Flores. Just picture Solange and Beyoncé doing a song together and you will understand what “Pa la Calle” means to the Latin world.
“Pa la Calle” contains a feel-good vibe, charming pop vocals, and a poppin’ instrumentation perfumed with electro-dance elements.
