Five Questions with Warren Wint

It was an impromptu freestyle competition in 2003 that changed Warren Wint’s life plans. Born in New York, NY Warren Wint decided it was music or nothing and committed himself to the lyrical and soulful essence of Hip-Hop.

With a love for poetry and musical influences from the late Michael Jackson, Tupac to Sade and J-Dilla, Warren became a student of the craft and sound. He mastered what we call the “Warren Wint Sound”, but where would his big break come from?

Warren Wint was added to the BET Network Show 106 & Park in the Summer of 2011 as an on-air hype man. That followed up with an appearance on Ralph McDaniels’ Video Music Box and a placement on the Empire State Mixtape, pioneered by Power 105.1’s DJ Whutevva. The exposure gave Warren Wint a digital outlet, and his Youtube page amassed 100,000+ views.

Since then he has performed at the legendary Webster Hall and the Southpaw in NYC opened up for acts like Teairra Mari, Fred The Godson, C.L Smooth & Chrisette Michele. His single “One Man’s Trash” has landed a spot on Verizon Fios Video on Demand.

In 2014, Warren performed at Loud Music Tour’s SXSW show w/ Fred The Godson, Hot 97’s Summer Jam w/ Ralph McDaniels and many other events help leading to the release of his “They Talkin” single off of his project entitled The Reset, followed by a video for “They Talkin” that features Jack Thriller & Rich Homie Quan. In January 2018 Warren was featured in ESPN’s Sunday Night Football Post Season Countdown as a music artist to watch.

Warren’s debut album, “Quietaskept”, including singles “Wasting Time,” “Maybe” and “Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda,” was released on September 17, 2018, and is currently airing on MTVU, MTV Base Africa, Music Choice, BET Jams, VEVO, SiriusXM and Hot 97.

Tell us about yourself and your debut project?

Warren Wint. A man of many principles. An artist built to succeed equipped with conviction, GOD given talent, awareness of both worlds and a level of determination that supersedes all expectation of doubt and fear. A father with much discipline and strength to endure, provide and stride. A son amongst many despairs, hope, faith, trials & tribulations. All in All, one thing remains the same. LOVE. I am nothing but Love. And that is the common theme in my project, “Quietaskept”. Love, Lust, Lies, Loyalty. A story of how one with a solid foundation can withstand all condition.

Do you feel your current project is the best introduction to you as an artist?

ABSOLUTELY! I have worked on these project for about 3 years now. Had different forms of it. In its final form, I feel complete. Literally conveying my message in the best way possible utilizing 12 songs. Definitely, something to replay back and make sure you don’t miss anything!

Tell us a bit about yourself OUTSIDE of music…What’s on your bucket list to accomplish as an entertainer?

I am such a peaceful person. I have aspired myself to really give back to the people. In order to do such, I must understand my people. I love philanthropy! I love traveling. I love meeting new people and engaging in the histories of those before us. Connecting the dots. I would love to accomplish many things as an entertainer, but, let’s starts off with taking off. To get “there” is on my bucket list. For a new list awaits me upon arrival. I have worked so hard for “MY” moment. I feel it coming NOW, more than EVER!

Will you be finishing out 2018 on the road or what’s on your horizon for 2018?

Hopefully! If I could do that, that would be great! My main focus as of now is to continue promoting the project with visuals and secure bigger shows. I have some other things that will show face before the year is over, but, I’m afraid you’ll just have to wait and see! I can’t wait for the people to be exposed to more of my talents and of course, on GOD’s time, IT will make sense, to everybody!

The Hype Magazine wants to know: What’s been your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?! Or “WTF?!” moment thus far in your career?

Ahh man lol. Hmmm…I would have to say…Damn, I feel like I’m being asked to expose someone. Haha! Nah umm. I would honestly have to say doing TRL. It was just mind-boggling to be there with Sway. Sway is someone I literally grew up on. So, feeling like I know him, all to finally meet him, and work together. And then do what I DO? Definitely WTF!? haha! my version anyway.
