Premiere: Sam Era Shares “The Worst Thing” Single

Sam Era first arrived on the scene in September with her debut single “Nothing Was The Same” and it quickly caught our attention. Today, we’re excited to premiere the second single, “The Worst Thing,” off her upcoming debut album.

Sam Era’s songwriting shines through on the sultry track. As she sifts through the push and pull of a toxic relationship, Sam recognizes that the worst thing she could do is ask him to stay. The dark production and her fuzzy vocals are everything you’d need from this twisted love song.

“The Worst Thing is about a toxic relationship and knowing that the worst thing you can do is ask the person to stay and continue the toxic environment, but your emotions and the fear of being alone take over your ability to make any rational decisions about the situation.” – Sam Era

Based in Phoenix, Sam Era is definitely one of the few artists creating such a future R&B sound from the South West. Very early on in her career, but she’s already proven herself as someone who makes stellar music with a bit of darkness you might not expect from sunny Arizona. Take a listen to “The Worst Thing” below and enter the murky world of Sam Era.
