Big K.R.I.T. – Double Down

Multi-Alumni/BMG is pleased to announce today’s surprise release of DOUBLE DOWN, the new 2-song EP by Big K.R.I.T. featuring “Pick Yourself Up,” produced by Rico Love and D-Town The Great and “Learned From Texas” produced DJ Khalil and Tariq Beats.

DOUBLE DOWN follows the 3-song EP, Thrice X, released on November 16th which left Billboard’s Carl Lamarre wanting more as he wrote in his piece on the EP, “Hopefully, Thrice X leads to a bigger K.R.I.T. project in the next couple of months.”

In celebration of DOUBLE DOWN, Big K.R.I.T. partners with Shanti Das and her Silence The Shame organization to present a fireside chat titled, “Pick Yourself Up and Silence The Shame” on December 6th at 7PM at the Gathering Spot (384 Northyards Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30313). The event is sponsored by Martell and will feature a live art activation by a surprise visual artist.

On the EP, the energetic “Pick Yourself Up,” with its Too Short and Isley Brother’s samples, is all about a good time while “Learned From Texas” allows Big K.R.I.T. to pay homage to the region and rappers that have influenced him most.

During the “Pick Yourself Up and Silence The Shame” event, a select number of fans will win the opportunity to meet Big K.R.I.T. and Shanti Das after the chat by submitting a short visual essay on the ultimate way they pick themselves up: i.e.: being with family and friends, throwing the ultimate party, a chocolate shake. Give details and submit. All submissions should include the hashtags: #SilenceTheShame and #PickYourselfUp while tagging @bigkrit.

“By being so transparent about my life struggles in my music, I hope that people who are going through similar challenges will find strength through my stories,” states Big K.R.I.T.
