“G.O.A.T. 2.0” Went Gold and Eric Bellinger Turned Up With Some Actual Goats

Eric Bellinger’s “G.O.A.T. 2.0” featuring Wale independently went Gold this week, right as Bellinger and Compton rapper AD celebrated their NINE album drop. Bellinger has been in character as Latin lover “Poncho Belly” for days as his alter-ego album NINE  was being released to the public, but as news broke that Eazy Call album hit “G.O.A.T. 2.0”  is now a certified gold record, it was time for him to TURN UP as the original shirtless singer we know and love. Hennessy’s Katrina Jo hosted a VSOP Privilege Toast for Eric Bellinger inside Hollywood’s Roosevelt Library Bar on Tuesday for select group from Bellinger’s immediate team to celebrate his certified gold record in style.

The feel-good “G.O.A.T. 2.0” starts off with Wale’s praises, All hail to my favorite lady/ And I would elevate your name but I’m saying you’re already an angel and ramps up as Bellinger sing/raps the hook that all his fans sing along with at shows: Shawty bad, slim, thick/ She my drug, she my fix/ And I’m all up in her mix/ She be mixin’ with the wrist/ She the plug, she finesse/ She the one they call the GOAT/ She don’t stress/ She don’t trip and she fuck with all my bros.

“G.O.A.T. 2.0” became a fan favorite early on, probably because it was Eric Bellinger’s fans who requested the remake in the first place. And as Bellinger’s mentioned to Billboard magazine, when he decided to give the people what they want, “my first thought was to hit my brother Wale…we got a special chemistry the world needs.” This gold record is an exciting addition to Bellinger’s long list of wins!
