Backed by a throwback West Coast bassline and ominous production, the Pasadena, CA hip-hop maverick spits catchy and confessional bars with impenetrable intensity. Highlighted by his tight flow and soulful choruses, the track kickstarts the dawn of a new chapter for California hip-hop, unfolding as two minutes and forty seconds of raw and real emotion.
“Hometown” follows up his recent 1 Minute of Your Time EP. Comprised of five “Acts,” none of which exceed a minute, it illuminated his ability to pack a powerful punch into a succinct statement. He just brought this statement to life by unveiling five one-minute videos on Instagram to carry out the narrative.
