Pell – Early

New Orleans-native lyricist, rapper, singer and producer, Pell drops “Early” via Payday Records, co-produced by Ninety4our and Grammy-nominated, Bizness Boi, who most recently worked on Swae Lee’s “Swaecation,” 6lack’s “Loaded Gun,” and PARTYNEXTDOOR’s “P3.” After gaining momentum with his recent releases “Fallback, “Greyhound,” and “Simple and Plain,” new single “Early” comes as the last track in his series of records that have been rolling out since the end of the summer.

Staying true to his NOLA roots, the song opens with smooth saxophone riffs, reflecting the Jazz and Big Band sounds of his hometown. Dominated by his flow, the track is upbeat, enticing, and motivating. With lyrics about self-improvement, staying on ‘the grind’, and fulfilling his goals, Pell paints a narrative about his journey as an artist and his obligation to make his mother proud as a son. The uplifting baseline draws the listener in, while the free-flowing saxophone paints images above the melody, and his flow drives the whole story forward; Pell’s layered vocals create a rich, morning pump-up jam, winding down reassurances, or an overall party anthem.

“Early is really a vibe for those who are the go-getters,” said Pell. “The ones who go to sleep late and wake up early to make sure their dreams are a reality.”

Pell’s new single follows his recent releases of “Simple and Plain,” “Greyhound,” “Fallback” and “Hear Me,” which is featured on the official Madden NFL 19 soundtrack. “Early” marks the last single to drop in his one single a month run with a transformative sound via Payday Records, following his collaborative Magic Hour EP with renowned producer NGHTMRE released on Diplo’s Mad Decent. He also worked the festival circuit at Essence Festival in New Orleans, played at the Westward Music Festival in Vancouver, and most recently performed with BIG GIGANTIC at Red Rocks Amphitheatre this past Friday with Keys N Krates and Slushii. Pell also accompanied singer Doja Cat on her Amala Tour this October in select cities.
