Sonta – 2AM

Machine Entertainment Group’s R&B songbird, Sonta, released her new track “2AM” today(Machine Entertainment Group/The Orchard). As a follow up to Sonta’s debut project, In My Feelings, (16M streams across DSPs to date) the emotionally charged track finds the songstress wrought with heartache. “2AM” is available for streaming and purchase now.

Singer-songwriter Sonta Me’Shay blends soul with hints of drill rap, making her a low-key R&B champ on YouTube. Since joining the platform in 2015, the Chicago-based songstress has racked up over 50M views for delivering unfiltered yet soulful gems like the crowd-pleaser “You Ain’t Shit.”

Sonta – the youngest of ten siblings in a musical household – turned to poetry and eventually writing raps to help deal with matters of the heart. She prides herself on balancing the aggressive with the pensive in her lyrics, a style that she calls “R&D,” which stands for rhythm and drill.
