Taliwhoah – Run Along

Following from her gloriously sweeping EP ‘New Wave Order Vol. 1’ and 2018 hit single ‘Soul Food’, which amassed nearly 1million streams on Spotify last year, soulful and passionate R&B frontwoman Taliwhoah returns under new management with the unveiling of her latest single ‘Run Along’, available from today via Rostrum Records.

Born the daughter of Boney M’s Toyin Adekale, Taliwhoah has spent her entire life surrounded by musicians. From an early age, she fell in love with the process of songwriting and slowly began to build up a multicultural attraction to various genres, which goes to explain the bold new move on her latest release.

Having garnered comparisons to the likes of Solange and SZA on her last release, Taliwhoah draws on inspirations from her British roots with a nod to soul legend, Sade, a huge influence for her music and helping to deliver a more impacting and brazen sound on her return. ‘Run Along’ mixes the singer’s soaring voice with a levelled yet bold production that reaches out and grabs you from the very start.

Pushing the boundaries of the R&B with an infusion of soul, ‘Run Along’ sees a more mature and assured Taliwhoah at the helm, delivering an emotive and strong performance throughout. Her last EP may have cemented her as a bright new talent in the world, but this latest single sees her emerge from the peripheries to stake a claim as the next big artist in global R&B.

Speaking on the new single Taliwhoah states:

“Run along covers a transition that had to happen to truly embrace and acknowledge my self worth. I really dive deep into a reality I had to deal with, that many women out there have to deal with. It’s a journey I had to take with the people that channel the most positive energy in me, my family. So with the track and video, I made sure I really kept it real. Really real. Everything you see is a raw and transparent walk through my heart”

‘Run Along’ is available now via Rostrum Records, tune in below.
