Too $hort Holds Album Release Party for New Project ‘The Pimp Tape’

Warwick (Hollywood)

The Oakland legend is celebrating over 3 decades in the game by doing what you might ask? Releasing another project of course. This man does not stop. It really is amazing when you see rappers that literally had a hand in building the rap game continually keep themselves relevant. Too $hort hosted his release party for his new project called simply The Pimp Tape at Warwick in Hollywood,  one of the top venues in Hollywood, the chandeliers gave the club an elegant yet a calming warm feel. There is something to be said about the enormous amount of support that $hort has in the city. The venue was filled with friends, industry pros and supporters who over the years experienced the history that Short has brought to the game. Finally he entered and everyone gravitated towards him. The DJ, Big Von, kept the party going throughout and never let it die.

Nef the Pharoh, Mistah Fab aka Mr. Dope Era

Six sparkling bottles on ice welcomed Too $hort as he came in the building. Everyone surrounded the legend snapping pictures and showing love. $hort is very humble and he appreciated everyone that he came in contact with. I dapped him up and just told him one word “Respect.” He nodded and proceeded to the DJ booth to take pictures and give dap. Amongst all the supporters a couple of familiar faces came thru as well. Bay Area Nef the Pharaoh, The Town Legend Mistah Fab, The Office Star Craig Robinson and Goodie Mob’s own CeeLo Green  even popped up to celebrate the longevity. DJ Big Von  continued to spin new and old $hort records and cruising through his monstrous catalog of hits that weaved through very pivitol times in hip hop. It was a great night and genuine love and energy filled the room. Shoutout to Stacy from Empire and Echo Hattix from Echo Soundz for inviting us and if you haven’t yet please check out who else they have on their rosters. Check out the new project below!
