From the outside looking in, who is the artist Roy Charamba?
Roy Charamba is an artist, very versatile, i choose not to be classified as a rapper, singer or be boxed in a specific category, I just make music that, good music that is.
What brought you to the entertainment industry, music specifically?
The love of music, I grew up listening to a lot of music, my family always had music around so I picked up from it, started as a hobby and I took it seriously
What do you want people to get from your music?
I want to give people a different perspective, Girlfriend for example isn’t your typical love story and you’ll understand more as you listen to it. Conceptually, there’ll be quite a few songs steering that way.
Tell us about your current project.
The project I’m working on is very experimental, it’ll showcase my artistry to such an extent that those who had any sense of doubt will become believers
For new listeners, what song of yours would you pick as an introduction to you as an artist?
I’d say all of them, but girlfriend is really unique and different from anything I’ve put out
Tell us a bit about your work and passions OUTSIDE of music…
I’ve always had a passion for music video directing, directing , also fashion but I’m probably going to get into those as time goes by
Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” aka WTF?! moment…
It’d have to be when Waheed told me they want me to be part of Mistro Records. Sort of like a dream come true to me.
