K-Major Gives Back with, “Thankful for Music” Campaign

R&B Artist, K-Major gets in the holiday spirit, with Thankful for Music, finding unconventional ways to give back.

Thankful for Music, started during the Thanksgiving holiday as a contest to inspire lovers of music to keep going. K-Major asked songwriters, producers, and artists all over to join his efforts, and share personal stories of why they are thankful for music on social media.

Fans used the hashtag #Thankfulformusic and expressed how much music made an impact. For some, it became therapy after the loss of family members, and others simply couldn’t imagine life without it. After receiving an outpour of support online, K-Major gifted five winners with iTunes gift cards.

“We often hear so many people share how they are thankful for material possessions, but I want to hear your stories,” K-Major said. “If you’re anything like me, music saved me, music saved my life.”

As a continuation of Thankful for Music, K-Major also wanted the campaign to focus on music education. He was invited to speak at Georgia State University, to students aspiring careers in the music industry. His goal was to not only share his experience as a successful songwriter, producer and artist but to stress the importance of learning the business.

In hopes of expanding the magnitude of Thankful for Music, K-Major plans on connecting with music students at each grade level. He wants to encourage the youth to pursue music post-grad and will continue the initiative throughout the Spring.

K-Major engages with students in Georgia State’s, Introduction to Music Industry course, expressing the importance of balancing creativity and education.

Moved by K-Major’s presentation, several students wanted to introduce themselves after class and learn more about his journey in the industry.
