About Emcee N.I.C.E.

Coming from El Paso, TX Emcee N.I.C.E. launched his music career as a Christian rapper, only to find that the genre was closed for progressive Gospel. Later, he forged a path as a secular artist and found much success working with the likes of Nas and Tupac (posthumously), on motion picture soundtracks, and as co-creator and co-star as Novelist in the 3D animated music series “Da Jammies,” (formerly on Netflix, currently on Kid Genius TV, Comcast/Xfinity XOD, Amazon Prime and ROKU). Returning to Gospel Hip-Hop, Emcee N.I.C.E. released his debut GHH album PRAISE in 2017, achieving chart-topping success across multiple platforms, most notably on the Billboard charts. His single from the album, “I Got Angels” inspired by legendary gospel icon Richard Smallwood, peaked at #1 on the Hot Single Sales Chart as well as Billboard’s Gospel Digital Song Sales Chart. His debut CHH album PRAISE reached #1 on Billboard for the Top Gospel Album, along with his collaboration with Grammy award winner Fred Hammond, titled “Glory to God,” from his sophomore album GOD’S SHOW reaching #1 on the Billboard Gospel Digital Song Sales.

About Bishop Cortez-Vaughn
“If you want Him, you can have Him. You don’t have to have Him like I have Him. You can get Him in your own way. The only way that can happen is for you to allow Him to prove who He is to you. That’s when real change happens.”
Returning music ministry to a state of corporate worship in order to demonstrate to the masses that every voice exalting God and The Word pleases His ear is the primary mission of Bishop Cortez Vaughn. Though his path among men of Gospel has been rocky, his personal spiritual high road remains steadfast and true. In so doing, he is the proud co-creator of two of Contemporary Gospel’s mightiest moments: the all-star J2K: Jesus 2000 project and, most recently, the galvanizing 2017 song “You Deserve It,” winner of Stellar Awards, a Grammy nomination, a Billboard Award and an ASCAP Rhythm & Music Award – to date.
After serving The Lord with his musical gifts behind the scenes for others and ministering from Evangelistic Center in Kansas City for two decades-plus, Bishop Cortez Vaughn is carefully cultivating his first Tyscot Records project under his name following the epic 10-weeks-at-#1 chart success of JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise’s “You Deserve It” on which Vaughn was the co-writer and lead vocalist.

It’s all about the future. “That’s where I’m at today,” Bishop Cortez Vaughn concludes. “God, let me hear something in worship beyond where I am today…something not just good for the moment but timeless.”
