Girl Wilde – Fake Louis

Girl Wilde is ready to make 2019 her year. Her third single, “Fake Louis,” is out today, and it’s an instantly infectious bop. Girl Wilde is here to redefine pop music, which she has consistently proved on past releases, and “Fake Louis” is another cheeky, animated, tongue-in-cheek anthem to add to her growing repertoire.
On the meaning behind the new single, Girl Wilde writes, “I’ve struggled with my sense of self for a long time. ‘Fake Louis’ is about the weight that I’ve felt lift as I’ve gotten to know myself more. I have some weird quirks. I carry around a fake designer bag and my friends refer to it as “the fake Louis” and it’s become an odd joke. People are often thrown off by my honesty and self-deprecation but I feel like there’s a power in owning it.”

Previously songwriting for others as well as her past musical project, Alex Barnes aka Girl Wilde is no novice to the music world. The Girl Wilde project was born from a desire to be unrestricted by genre, expectations, and trends. Blending influences of rock, pop, and electronic, Girl Wilde is carving out a fresh and distinctive sound that is uniquely and truly her own.

Girl Wilde made her introduction to the world last year with her debut single “Bad Side,” which she quickly followed up with “Nervous Breakdown” and an accompanying music video. With only three singles under her belt, Girl Wilde has already received glowing reviews from the likes of Alternative Press, C-Heads, idobi Radio, and Pop Dust. The alt-pop songstress has also stepped out with a punchy live show with gigs at LA’s Gibson Showroom and WFNM’s Madame Siam residency.
