‘Surviving R. Kelly’ Executive Producer Dream Hampton on the R&B singer: “I wish that he would have gotten help”

“Surviving R. Kelly” may have been one of the most-watched documentaries in recent history, it was both educational and horrifying as survivors, parents and mental health professionals all weighed in on the continuing saga of a long-time predator. As a father, it was heart-wrenching to hear the tale the parents who shared their stories and as a man…I can’t describe the various feelings I experienced as I watched without profanity. Admiration goes to all who participated and a special shout out to the organizations and individuals who threw the alarm clock in the graveyard and woke the dead so this cycle could come to an end!

Following the run of ‘Surviving R. Kelly’, Executive Producer Dream Hampton weighed with SiriusXM’s Karen Hunter and shared some discoveries she made during the filming of the documentary on R&B singer Robert Kelly who, for decades, has faced accusations of child and sexual abuse. “I wish that he would have gotten help,” she shared.
