Ruff Ryders Alum Drag-On Talks Being Independent, His Return to Acting and ‘Barz Of Fire’ Series

Gold selling Hip Hop protector and actor Drag-On chopped it up with The Hype Magazine about his re-entry into the world of acting, his bomb azz mixtape series “Barz On Fire” (#BOF)! The widely respected lyricist has maintained his raw style over a stellar career, determined to represent as himself…outside of any box. We caught up with Drag-On just after the drop of #BOF3 and ahead of the planned release of his upcoming EP TheTruthOfTheMatter set for release in spring. The entertainer also just completed shooting a film with Bmore Snoop (from the WIRE ) called: Table’s Turn.

Drag-On caught the acting bug early on in his career, appearing in major films “Cradle 2The Grave”, “Exit Wounds”, and “The Hustle” and is a born in front of the camera. His energy definitely went WAAAAYYY up when we talked about his love for acting so “Table’s Turn” should be an exciting watch…

Drag-On began his own record label Hood Environment in 2014 and launched the imprint’s website with a series of freestyles and mixtapes. Word is the label is hitting its stride and will be a safe haven for original Hip Hop ideals for a long time to come! No compromise in the works is the word.

Barz On Fire 3 is some real rap for real folks, no doubt. Drag doesn’t take it easy and his relentless barrages of lyrical missiles don’t miss and bring total destruction! My top pick from the project has nothing at all to do with who’s on it, just the content and that’s Track 5 “He Ain’t Real” Ft. Maino (Prod. by CRAZEONTHEBEATZ). If you are a fan of #BOF one and two, this one with DJ Get It Rite and DJ Lazy K in the mix, is essential for your collection! Overall, it’s a 5/5 for me.
