Xzibit premiere’s BROKEN GROUND (Season one) at PAN AFRICAN FILM + ARTS FESTIVAL
Xzibit & Jayo Felony screened Season One of BROKEN GROUND: James Savage at the PAN AFRICAN FILM + ARTS FESTIVAL in Los Angeles. Following the premiere was a Q&A hosted by radio personality Big Boy. Many friends, family and Supporters showed up for this exclusive red carpet event. Also in attendance at PAN AFRICAN FILM + ARTS FESTIVAL were cast of the short film “HATS”, Common (Rapper), Sade Clacken Joseph (Director), Sherrie Shepherd (Actress), Dante Brown (Actor), Edan Frei (Composer) and many more.
The Pan African Film & Arts Festival is a platform that showcases films, fine art and unique crafts from Africa and the Diaspora. If you experience the films and stroll through the ArtFEST you will find things, ideas and experiences that will help you live well. They range from ancient to the future. All of the 190 new Black films and the 75 fine artists will help you live well and better, especially in this time.
A screening of the short film “HATS” showcased its LA premiere at The Pan African Film & Arts Festival. “HATS” is Directed by: Sade Clacken Joseph, starring Sherri Shepherd, Dante Brown, Jensen Atwood and Chance Harlem Jr. With music scored by Common and Edan Frei. An imaginative, young, black aspiring baseball player is torn between his new predominantly white high school and his gang-in-fested home of South Central. As his worlds collide, he must choose what he will wear in order to survive.
BROKEN GROUND: James Savage is a hybrid of a feature series and mega video. The film showcases the directional debut of rapper/actor Xzibit starring James Savage (Jayo Felony) and a handful of west coast rappers. “BROKEN GROUND” is the semi-autobiographical story of James Savage, a man who went to prison, lost his promising career, and now wants to transform into a better man. Following the film portion of the screening was a Q&A hosted by radio personality Big Boy. Members of the audience asked questions and expressed their excitement to embrace “James Savage” and his new transition.
