Brooklyn’s DioMara Drops Explosive New Single ‘Ms. Beautiful’ for International Women’s Day;

Label submitted

Back Story – DioMara, born Diomara Xionida Delvalle, is a Panamanian-American Singer/Songwriter from Brooklyn, New York. She lived amongst her fellow Caribbean and Latino peers on Flatbush Avenue so the culture, along with the American musical culture of Soul and R&B, led to the diversity of DioMara’s musical palette. Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton, Celine Dion, Luther Vandross, and Marc Anthony are just a few of DioMara’s musical and vocal inspirations.  District and All State Music Festivals in her teenage years added the Western European musical styles to this already diverse palette. This led to DioMara’s ability to deliver any musical style. She believes there are no barriers to creativity and refuses to be limited to just one concept.

The Apollo Theatre; where legends such as The Jackson Five, Diana Ross, Whitney Houston and many more graced the stage, became the very first memorable place DioMara revealed her talents. The Apollo audience being described as difficult would be considered an understatement. They wanted the best of the best and DioMara, then 15 years old, was prepared to deliver. She rang victorious and went on to play the stage 2 more times. This was just the beginning of a very fruitful career for her.

“My recipe for life is not being afraid of myself, afraid of what I think or of my opinions” – Eartha Kitt

DioMara; she lives your reality but is the protagonist of your darkest twisted fantasies. DioMara has the ability to occupy every human sense and with those elements combined will have your appetite begging for more. Empowering, virtuous, provocative and stirring the affections and senses of the individual are all descriptive of DioMara’s disposition, sound, and image; the qualities of her emotion-filled music. She believes in living outside the norm, embracing her flaws as beautiful, and letting her voice be heard despite adversity.

DioMara, being a multi-dimensional woman, is a budding revolutionary and an established visionary and will execute every concept of success.

This young songstress just let loose with an amazing single for International Women’s Day entitled “Ms. Beautiful” that showcases a full range of vocal nuances one might expect from a more seasoned singer but with a fresh new vibe that sets her apart from the pack. Accompanied by a strong visual the single makes this lioness one to watch…she’s got her *ish together. Shout out to her team at Driven Society Music for ensuring this joint has the full package… 4/5 for me ~ JD

The Hype Magazine got the siren to weigh in on a few things:

Introduce us to the songstress DioMara!

My name is DioMara and I am a Panamanian-American R&B Singer/Songwriter from Brooklyn, NY! I grew up in a complete native Panamanian household so I heard Salsa, Calypso, Reggae, R&B, Hip Hop, Kompa EVERYTHING so this definitely influenced my style. Ummm I love long walks in the bank and nig*as that are not dumb. JK. But I proclaim independence, respect, ownership, loving and uplifting the original family to ensure our advancement and everything a human is supposed to be about really.

What brought you to the entertainment industry, music specifically?

Well, my father, Reynaldo Delvalle, was a DJ and used to perform a lot when he was younger. I basically inherited my talents from him! I realized I could sing when I was younger but it started meaning something to me when I realized it soothed my depressive thoughts and really put me at peace. I also believe whatever God blesses you with YOU USE! I decided to pursue music once I realized all of this and tested this out when I was 15 at Showtime at The Apollo. I figured if I can make it on that stage that validated my abilities. I won.

What’s been the biggest impact on your sound as you’ve developed?

The biggest impact has to be my love for dark, deep sounds; basically records in minor keys. This developed as I performed choral music throughout grade school. I also am super inspired by Chaka Khan, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton and a culmination of Reggae & Salsa artists. I LIVE in my lower register but am capable of hitting higher because of my choral & gospel background.

Tell us about your current single Ms. Beautiful.

Ms. Beautiful is that record letting the world know WOMEN ARE COMING FOR WHAT THEY WANT! It’s time we stop settling and be fearless in going after what we deserve, including in a mate. “As a shooter I gotta shoot my shot” Yes we are shooting and we are not missing. That’s just that! (Check the visual here)

Do you have a bucket list of collabs you’d like to accomplish?

Yes I do. BEYONCE (duh), Kendrick Lamar (his lyricism, delivery I LIVE FOR), Solange (For Us By Us PERIOD), H.E.R. (I’ve been waiting for authentic R&B and from someone who displays LIVE talents. She’s here), Ozuna (Afro-Latinx power. He gives me all the melodies I need), Drake (this man just makes hits and his melodies are legendary). There’s so many more but those are the first that come to mind.

Tell us a bit about your work and passions OUTSIDE of music…

Outside of music I work a lot to uplift and empower women. I took part in Co-Founding a WMN’s appreciation and charity event series called WNDR WMN. We host a number of experiences across New York for women and our allies. We found it important to create a safe space that was INCLUSIVE, meaning inviting to all genders but with a focus on exalting the woman. Because we are mothers of this world.

Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” aka WTF?! moment…

I have two. Sexual assault. I’m sure there are folks who want to have sex with someone CONSENSUALLY and OF AGE. Find them and stop being f*ckin sickos. Also, charging independent artists their firstborns to perform on stages that actually result in no advancement but more money in a promoters pocket. STOP IT! I don’t care who you know that stocks the copy paper at your favorite big record label and now you can put the logo on your flyer. WE’RE NOT ROLLIN!
