UNBLOOM Begins Breakout year with Nuanced Single, “Best Believe”

2018 was one of UNBLOOM’s most pivotal years. He released three acclaimed singles and affirmed his ability to be a complete artist. Instead of leaning into the frontman persona, he’s starting out 2019 as a talent curator with “Best Believe” – an electro-pop song that features the vocals of rising alt-pop artist Connor Morand. The track highlights UNBLOOM’s ability to add nuance and texture to a song with danceable energy.

UNBLOOM had this to say about his newest track: “‘Best Believe’ is a song that explores the hard truths of what it means to be in a relationship–to be in love. Sometimes, it involves confrontation and the ensuing pain of getting to the core of where the relationship stands, or, quite frankly, doesn’t stand at all. And sometimes the relationship surprises you; the pain is temporary because the outcome is worthwhile. That’s the kind of sentiment Connor and I wanted to explore in ‘Best Believe’.

And yeah, I know, we aren’t the first electronic dance act to explore relationship pains and other matters of the heart. But if I’m being honest, when Connor sang the pre-chorus for the first time, I just sat there stunned thinking “goddamn, I don’t care how cliche this song could be perceived to be, I believe every fucking word that’s coming out of his mouth.” So sure, we’re not the first to tackle this topic, but I couldn’t deny Connor’s absolute sincerity and emotion.”
