Matt Warren – Music Is My Life

There for the beginning of the Chicago House movement in the 1980s when his debut single ‘Rock The Nation’ was released and one of house music’s most enduring DJs, remixers and producers, Matt Warren has released his full-length album ‘Music Is My Life’.

Released prior to the album, the lead track “Get On Up” has already made a momentous impact. Having played on radio across America, Canada, Europe and UK, the track’s video has already screened on MTV, VH1 and BetaJams.

A fusion of funk, electro and dance, Matt Warren combines his Nu-disco incentives with real music from real musicians, culminating in the past, present and future of house music all in one album. Performing alongside the traditional synthesised rhythms and beats, Matt Warren’s supporting cast includes the likes of vocalists Pepper Gomez and Elena Andujar; soul diva Janis McGee; jazz bassist Wes Nelson and Grammy-nominated trumpeter, Ron Haynes.

With tracks that range from Latin-like bounce melodies like first track “How Do I Love Thee” to disco beats in “Get On Up” to heavy brass-led tracks like “Catch Me If You Can”, ‘Music Is My Life’ captures the limitless faces of house music and the Nu-disco movement.
