Porn Release Haunting Music Video For Single ‘Last of a Million’

Industrial Goth Rockers Porn have delivered a haunting music video for their single “The Last of a Million”. Fresh from the February release of their latest album The Darkest of Human Desires – act II, the long-running French goth-metal outfit Porn delivered an evocative new video for the track ‘The Last of a Million”, released earlier this week. The video comes as the second addition to their highly anticipated trilogy, based on the fictional narrative of ‘Mr. Strangler’: a prolific serial killer. The single and video are accompanied by two remixes by Heartlay and Entropy Zero.

Filmed in the Mojave desert, near Los Angeles California the video depicts the unhinged Mr. Strangler dig a grave in the barren dirt as the setting sun beats down on him and his victim. The vast and strikingly beautiful landscape contrasts eerily against the dark context of the video, as the viewer begins to realize the malevolent motives of Mr. Stragler, AKA lead singer Philippe Deschemin.

The ominous visual counterpart to the emotive track marks the band’s second collaboration with director Fernando Cordero, of Industrialism Films (3teeth, Zakk Wylde, Ritchie Kotzen, The 69eyes), having first collaborated on ‘The Ogre Inside’ music video in 2018.
The track blends crushing industrial beats and guitar hooks with Deschemin’s soaring voice to create a powerful sonic effect. As if mirroring Mr. Stranglers “Ogre inside” (see what I did there?), the vocals make a distinct move from melodious to demonic, as an evil distorted voice bursts through at the chorus. With true crime’s ascension into popular culture in recent month, the band seem to be touching on a societal phenomenon at just the right time. Check it out below!
