Tessa Rae – Awesome

Oakland-born, LA-raised R&B pop artist Tessa Rae shares her newest single, “Awesome.” A feisty track with a minimalist beat, “Awesome” features brazen, cheeky lyrics sung captivatingly over an R&B and trap-inspired landscape. “’Awesome’ is probably the most fun I’ve had writing a song,” states Tessa Rae. “I was working with my producer friend, Vinny, and out of nowhere he sang, ‘honestly, I’m feeling fucking awesome.’ I thought, ‘Woah! That’s a vibe!’ From there I just tried to write a super braggadocios banger about being awesome.

“I touch on my career/life purpose, all while keeping it cute and fun,” she continues. “We wrote and tracked vocals in my living room; it was all very organic. To me, it’s a classic feel good song with a twist.”

After years spent writing as a hobby, Tessa released her debut single “Seventeen” in 2016, which gained acclaim from Pigeons and Planes for its “atmospheric R&B production” and “velvety vocals.” Combining hip-hop beats, otherworldly landscapes, evocative lyricism and dreamy melodies, along with a stunning and captivating aesthetic, Tessa Rae has differentiated herself as a bright young talent, effortlessly making her way to stardom.
