Awful Records’ SEANTHOMMONEY Shares ‘Big 9s’

SEANTHOMMONEY is thrilled to share the music video for his newest single ‘Big 9s’ – his first release since signing with Atlanta’s very own Awful Records.

“This one of the first hit tracks I recorded with my friends when I first moved to the A,” said SEANTHOMMONEY. “I’m excited for everyone to finally see.”

‘Big 9s’ is the perfect introduction to SEANTHOMMONEY’s left-of-center creative vision. Boasting warped, post-apocalyptic visuals, ‘Big 9s’ brings vigor and thrill with tricky animation and a rowdy performance from the Atlanta based rapper. Musically, SEANTHOMMONEY bridges combative raps with bashful humor over a synth-layered, bass heavy beat. ‘Big 9s’ was produced by Ziti, a buddy and frequent collaborator of Sean’s, whose credits include YG, Rico Pressley, Swae Lee, Danger Incorporated, and more. From crafty necklaces to homemade laser guns, SEANTHOMMONEY distorted fantasy falls perfectly in line with the Awful Records DIY ethos.

SEANTHOMMONEY arrived in Atlanta by way of Prince George County, Maryland. After forgoing design school at New York’s FIT, he enrolled at a local college in Baltimore, only to drop out after one semester to focus on his creative efforts full time. His music bubbled locally, so Sean relocated to Atlanta to expand his environment and creative network. His BEEN RUINED movement was immediately embraced by Atlanta’s reemerging underground scene and he quickly caught the eye of Awful Records, who knew there was something inherently different in him.

“Sean’s just got it. You just want to be around him. Making music is like a second language. It comes to him so easy. And he’s just a pleasant, nice dude. When we linked up for the first time, it was obvious we had to work together,” said Kobi, Co-President of Awful Records. “We’re very excited for what’s coming.”

Awful Records is thrilled to be sharing SEANTHOMMONEY ‘Big 9s’ as their first release of 2019.
