Jacoby X – Unapologetically Me

Rapper, singer and songwriter Jacoby X is letting the world know that he is a true force to be reckoned with after releasing his new album, Unapologetically Me, last week. The 16 track project, available now on all streaming platforms, puts the Birmingham, AL native’s depth and lyrical prowess on full display and gives listeners an open and honest glimpse into his personal life.

Some have witnessed Jacoby X’s skill-set while opening for notable artists such as Migos, 2 Chainz, Lil Baby, Trina, Diamond (Crime Mob) and Hood Rich Pablo. Now, he intends to reach the masses.

“The message behind the album is that I am just being me, unapologetically,” said Jacoby X. “I am giving the world all of me and not being afraid to let loose and be more abstract with my art. I also wanted to make it clear that I’m not worried about what anyone thinks of me. My focus is staying committed to my craft and focusing on the purpose that God has for me.”

Unapologetically Me kicks off in grand fashion with the first song, “What’s Hannin’,” a raw and up-tempo track where Jacoby X confidently strides over the beat with a message to his contemporaries that he’s coming for the throne and everything they said he couldn’t have. In one verse, he spits: “My hustle to get me a mill / ain’t reaching my hands for a deal / need me a bill / mansion all up in the hills / going so brazy can’t chill.”

Other tracks cover everything from missteps in romantic relationships, spiritual warfare, tuning out naysayers and his quest to be among the best of his generation. Listeners will surely learn about Jacoby X’s versatility as an artist. Not only does he flow effortlessly throughout the album, but he also showcases his vocal ability, which can be heard on tracks such as “The Dream” and “Prodigal Son.” The project also includes a remix of his hit single, “Check,” featuring associate SG Kendall.

Overall, the album shows the humanity of Jacoby X. He wants to be an artist connected to his fan-base, allowing them to ride along with him through his life’s journey. This is the first chapter.
