Southside Partners with Snapchat to Release Freestyle Fridays

Multi-platinum producer Southside has partnered with Snapchat to launch a new project called Freestyle Fridays which officially launches on June 7th. Snapchat users will be able to freestyle for 30 seconds over a Southside produced beat while sporting his famous 808 MAFIA chain.

Southside who recently created his own label imprint (Eight Hundred Eight Records) with EPIC said that “this project could be revolutionary for discovering new talent.”

Brock Luker, Eight Hundred Eight Records’ President, and Southside’s co-manager explains why this could have such a huge impact on hip-hop, “Snapchat has always been at the forefront of innovation and with Freestyle Fridays Southside is going to enable 100’s of millions of users worldwide to display their talent on a Southside beat. The most important thing any label can do is find the best talent and Freestyle Fridays will enable us to showcase talent from around the world. Someone could literally get a record deal from this.”

Southside who is currently working on his debut album is extremely excited about working with a company like Snapchat.
