Tavour’s Megan Birch On How & Why Tavour Has Great Gift Ideas For Father’s Day 2019

Washington State-based Tavour is a company that tries thousands of beers from small craft breweries, ultimately bringing you the gems you can’t get at the store. In turn, Tavour works directly with hundreds of independent breweries to curate craft beer gift boxes with one-of-a-kind selections. In turn with selections as diverse as the Vanilla Ice Cream Stout from Wild Leap Brew Co. in Georgia and the Juicy IPA from WeldWerks Brewing in Colorado, a Tavour purchase may be ideal for a Father’s Day gift offering. Or really any sort of gift-giving opportunity you may come across.

On behalf of The Hype, I had the pleasure of doing Q&A with Megan Birch, Marketing Manager for Tavour, about the company and its day-to-day existence as a beer influencer. More on all things Tavour-related can be found online by visiting its official website at www.tavour.com.

How would you describe Tavour to someone who hasn’t tried it yet?

Megan Birch: Tavour is an app to discover and enjoy craft beers from around the world. We connect consumers directly with passionate brewers who care about quality and reaching their fans. The geographical divide that prevents you from walking directly into any brewpub is obliterated and you are transported to the barstool from the comfort of your own home.

Who is it that curates the beers for Tavour?

Megan Birch: We have a team of craft beer nerds who focus on working with new breweries who make amazing beer and getting that beer to Tavour, so we can put it on the app to share with our members.

How far in advance are your beers planned?

Megan Birch: Depends on the how far in advance the breweries plan their brew schedules, each one is different so we have to be flexible.

When did you first get into beer?

Megan Birch: Tavour started in 2013, but the founders have been craft beer fans long before that. The knew about all the amazing new beer that was out there but they did not have access to it in local grocery stores. So they started Tavour!

What are some of your recent flavor selections by Tavour?

Megan Birch: Recent breweries we have just started working with include Afterthought, Horus Aged Ales, Grey Sail, Wild Leap, Thin Man, Gally’s, Imprint, Central Waters, Untitled Art, Octopi, Grand Armory, Dwinell Country, Pigeon Hill, Main & Mill, Wilmington Brew Works, Drekker, Jessup Farm, Thomas Hooker, Wild Mind, Unsung and Trap Door…

So what does the rest of 2019 look like for Tavour?

Megan Birch: The rest of 2019 for Tavour will be trying to reach more craft beer fans! Right now we ship to 19 states but that number will increase soon!

When not busy with Tavour, how do you like to spend your free time?

Megan Birch: Learning more about beer and visiting local breweries!

What was the last concert you attended for fun?

Megan Birch: Kenny Chesney.

Finally, Megan, any last words for the kids?

Megan Birch: Stay in school!
