The Hype Magazine Interviews Trust’N

Christian Anderson, also known as his stage name Trust’N, is a 20 year old pop, hip hop and rap artist from Madison, WI. His love for music developed at a young age when he started listening to hip hop. At the age of 16, Trust’N started free-styling in the car with his friends and after encouragement from his peers, he started writing, producing and mixing his own music. His down to earth lyrics about life, heartbreak, his faith, and many other significant issues has allowed him to connect with an audience on a global level. Propelling off songs like his Pop/Rap hit “Let You Be” (1 Million streams) Trust’N has amassed over 3 Million streams on Spotify alone and has proven that he is definitely and artist to keep your eyes out for.

From the outside looking in, who is the artist “Trust’N”?…

Trust’N is just a 20 year old kid trying to make an impact in the world using a microphone, a beat pad, and a laptop. Most people would probably look at me and be surprised at what I am doing but at the end of the day, I am just another kid chasing a dream.

What brought you to the music industry?…

When I was younger I started listening to hip hop music and fell in love with it. I had never connected with music like that before. After some time listening, I would freestyle in the car with my friends for fun and eventually it turned into a hobby, and a hobby turned into a dream.

What do you feel is the best song you’ve done so far, and why?

The best song I’ve done so far is “Long Nights” with my friend Daniel Nass. It’s just two minutes of straight bars and it really showcases what I am able to do as a producer and artist.

Tell us about your current project and what you want people to get out of it?

My current project I am working on is a 5 song pop ep about my past relationship. This project was a huge help in dealing with the pain after being brutally dumped which means there is a lot of raw emotion and heartbreak. I know I’ll be able to relate deeply to a lot of listeners through these songs. I don’t want to give away too much but after listening to the project I want my listeners to walk away with a different perspective on love then they had before.

Outside of your own music, what artists’ bring you inspiration?

I am super inspired by Jon Bellion and the Chainsmokers pop production. I use the synth drops and classic melodies in my production. Other huge influences on me are NF and Drake because I think both are super unique and influence a lot of my writing.

What do you feel has been your greatest achievement so far in your career in the music industry?

My greatest achievement has been racking up 1 Million streams on my song Let You Be on Spotify alone. It’s crazy to see the number 1 Million next to a song I made in my basement with my friends.

Tell us a bit about your life and passions OUTSIDE of music?

I try to keep music and my personal life as separate as possible. Outside of music you’ll catch me hanging with friends, boarding, fishing, playing basketball, chillin with my family, or goofing around town. I am super passionate about the outdoors because I love connecting with nature. This means fishing, taking camping trips, hiking and so much more. I am also a super person oriented human. I love being around people and hanging with my friends and making memories is one of my favorite things to do. I also run a clothing brand as well called Lost Boy Merch. Besides music I love to create fashion and art as well. This means spending countless hours making designs or finding the next best material for a shirt.

Last but not least, HYPE wants to know… What can we expect next from “Trust’N”?

In the next few months, I will be releasing two EP’s and a full length album. All three of these projects are substantially better than anything I’ve released before. I am super excited to show them to the world.
