Wish Man Movie Set for World Premiere at The Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood

On June 4th, Wish Man is set to premiere at The Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. The trailer has dropped and we can’t wait to check this out!

Wish Man is a biographical drama based on the life of Frank Shankwitz – creator of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Since its creation in 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted wishes for more than 450,000 children in 50 countries worldwide. On average, a wish is granted every 38 seconds!  It’s the world’s largest wish-granting organization.

The film begins when Frank Shankwitz, at age ten, is traumatically separated from his father and follows him through his rocky and traumatic youth. At age 38, we find Frank a motorcycle cop who’s at rock bottom in his personal life, until a near fatal accident creates a rare opportunity for Frank to meet a 7-year-old boy with terminal leukemia who dreams of becoming a police officer. The film’s message is clear: one boy’s wish changed a man. One man’s wish changed the world.

Writer/Director Theo Davies shared his thoughts on the film with us, “What makes Frank’s story so special is the same reason I knew it would be a compelling film. As a filmmaker, you’re in the business of telling stories that move you. If I feel that way about a story, then I’m confident I can create the same feelings in an audience. Frank tells his story all over the country and the response is always the same – an outpouring of emotion and a lot of tears. It’s a unique story, a very American story but most importantly, a reminder of what we are capable of achieving when we help those who need it. That’s what makes us human and that’s what makes this story special. As a filmmaker, you live for the moments when your audience laughs, cries and engages in the story and the characters. Wish Man does all that and more.”

The film stars Andrew Steel (The Justice Lease) and Bruce Davison (X-Men) as Frank Shankwtiz in his younger and senior years. Other principle cast includes Danny Trejos Machete, Desperado, Con Air) Kirby Bliss Blanton (Project X, The Green Inferno), Robert Pine (CHiPs, Frozen, Independence Day) and more.
