Read our full-length interview below:

When did your interest in music begin? What or who inspired you?

I’m inspired by life experience. That’s how your songs stay relatable, so people can feel.

Whats an average day like for you?

An average day is having a strategy or goal written down, getting my team together and putting in work. From video ideas to song concepts it’s “go mode: at all other times! No letting up even when everything pops off.

After listening to some of your music, I’m curious. Are there hidden meanings or messages in any of your music?

Ha! Yeah, that can vary with every record. I definitely like clever subliminal lyrics, but I more so use my music as an outlet. I strongly believe in balance so in order for me to maintain some sort of private lifestyle and being a public figure, I get clever with my music. That’s what makes music, art.

Talk about the process of collaborating with others.

I believe that’s what music is all about. As you might know, I’ve worked with a number of creatives on all sides of entertainment. I’ve written records with Hitmaka and as you mentioned earlier 2 Chainz and Ariana Grande’s single “Rule The World.” I’m humbled by each collaborative opportunity I’m presented with. I enjoy making dope hits, regardless if solely for myself or others; That being said, you can definitely be expecting some dope collaboration on majority of my songs.

How do you interact and respond to fans?

This is what I love the most, my supporters! Fans are literally the most important piece to success. Without supporters how does any musician survive? So I do my best to respond as much as I can and just talk to the ones that show me love. Sometimes a simple conversation can mean so much so I never take people for granted and I try to remain as genuine as possible; People can tell if you’re faking love.

What is your favorite and least favorite part about this line of work?

The business & politics of it. But every industry deals with this so there’s really no point in weighing the pros and cons, we all have to do what we have too.

What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

Aim higher. I’m humbled and appreciate any recognition I receive, but I too am still working my way up. So yeah I can be an artist someone looks up too but understand I study those who came before me. So that, and being able to create freely and inspire/reach others without boundaries. Only person that’s going to stop you, is you.

Well, seems to be this rising artist, Chris Scholar, has a good head on his shoulders. It’s refreshing to have such a young yet humble artist making headway, and combining his endless connections to the music industry along with savvy music, it’s safe to say we’ll all being hearing or seeing Scholar’s name.
