AspireTV is taking Lifestyle to a Whole New Level

AspireTV, the only network that celebrates, reflects and shares black culture and urban lifestyle — is continuing the year with an exciting lineup of original programming.

Premiering on Aspire this month is the short film Tre from filmmaker Nakia Stephens and her screenwriting label Damn Write Originals (“DWO”). Tre tells the story of an 8-year old boy who, desperate for his own identity, sets out to reclaim his sense of self by dropping his inherited name and choosing one of his own. After sudden tragedy strikes, he ultimately accepts the legacy he was given.

Tre is the first of a series of content commissioned by Aspire from DWO and will air on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16 as part of their Urban Indie Film Block. The film debuted at the Bentonville Film Festival in May and will screen at the American Black Film Festival this month.

Returning this Fall to Aspire is Unboxed with Nikki Chu, starring celebrity designer
Nikki Chu who helps fans transform their spaces from outdated and dysfunctional to beautiful and on point. The twist? Each fan will have to choose between two mystery boxes containing a curated set of inspiration samples (a glossy silver pen reminiscent of Old Hollywood Glam, a Boho Chic fabric swatch, an antique watch, etc.) Once a box is chosen, Nikki will use it as her compass to transform her client’s space from drab to fab in just three days!

Also returning to Aspire this Fall is Season 3 of the cooking show BUTTER + BROWN co-hosted by Seth Brundle and Leslie Antonoff. The popular series, executive produced by Issa Rae and Chef G. Garvin, elevates everyday meals and shows viewers how easy it is to cook them at home.
