Meet the UK’s SwanSounds

SwanSounds, also known as SS, is an emerging artist destined for very big things. Smashing it with his latest single ‘How I Stay’, he provides fans with the first taste of his forthcoming collaborative mixtape set for release alongside Honey6.

Showcasing an extensive and impressive catalogue of his own music discoverable online, including ‘03.07.17’, ‘Gasolina’ and ‘Yeah Yeah’ , which has collectively garnered over hundred thousands views, he has been championed by platforms such as HotNewHipHop for his international appeal, “while he’s filtered his music through more American sounds, his UK roots are clear from the second he steps on the track, making for an interesting but very fluid fusion of sounds.” indicating a cross-Atlantic appeal.

He has built support from huge African artists such as Nigerian and Ghanian natives Burna Boy and Samini and he also produced and co wrote Dappy’s hit “All We Know”, as well as starring in the video.

The Hype Magazine got SwanSounds to weigh in on a few things from across the big pond

For those just getting to meet you, who is the artist SwanSounds?

An Artist, Producer, Writer, and Engineer. I just love music.

What brought you to the entertainment industry, music specifically?

I don’t feel like I’m a part of the entertainment industry. I just make music in my studio and put it out. My main focus is on perfecting my art and learning all the relevant business elements attached to it.

What do YOU get from music?

“Music is Therapy” whenever I go through a specific situation (Happy & Sad) in my life I make a song about it which makes the situation more understanding to me and at the same time, it allows people to relate to the lyrics as they are based off real-life situations.

Tell us about your current project.

“How I Stay” is my latest single and is one of my personal favorites. The track is a trappy 808 beat with me talking about things I’m going through in my day-to-day life. I hope it makes people happy as I intended it to.

For new listeners, what song of yours would you pick as an introduction to you as an artist?

Gasolina (written and produced by me) has to be my pick because that was the song that made people start noticing me.

Tell us a bit about your work and passions OUTSIDE of music…

There is none. I’m a studio addict, I’m in the studio every day from the time I wake up till I go to sleep. Besides that, I like traveling, shopping and chilling with my family and friends.

Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” aka WTF?! moment…

You know when you see someone with an all-black outfit and then “bam” bright white socks? Why do they do that bro???????
