0Pop Artist Julia Rizik Debuts Single “Love Myself” with Anti-Bullying Message
We’re always on the look out for new music, and this morning singer-songwriter Julia Rizik dropped her debut pop single “Love Myself.” At just eighteen years old, this Fender Sponsored artist recently made the transition from country to pop and penned the track based off her own experiences with bullying. The song carries a message about loving who you are right now and being comfortable in your own skin. We could easily see the catchy track hitting the radio airwaves this summer and love the message it carries for listeners.
“My songwriting is inspired by all sorts of things. I play both guitar and piano and mostly write songs about experiences that I am going through in my personal life or experiences my sisters are going through. We’re a tight knit family and personally, school was always rough for me. I was bullied a lot and music was the one thing that got me through. That’s why I didn’t just write Love Myself for me,I wrote it to be all inclusive. I wrote it as a song of acceptance and self-love, no matter where you come from or the mistakes you’ve made. That’s what I really hope fans take from the message of this single,” shared Rizik.
Julia’s sweet and sultry voice first garnered local attention in her home state of Arizona and then quickly caught the ear of producers in Nashville, where she moved to record her first studio sessions. She released her first independent country single “Medicine” in 2017 which she co-wrote and co-produced. The song got noticed by Spotify and made their New Music Nashville Playlist. From there, Julia was booked on two of the biggest country stages including Stagecoach in 2018 and most recently Country Thunder 2019.
“I transitioned into pop music very organically. It was not a forced transition at all. I started producing my own music about six to seven months ago, and the sounds I wanted to hear when I was creating these tracks were pop. On my new song, Love Myself, my fans can expect a lot more confidence and security in my lyrics. I have written a lot of songs about heartbreak, but on this track, I wanted to send listeners a message of hope and self-love” shared Rizik who plans to release a full pop EP of the same name later this Summer.
