Who is Mill Tick3t?

Back Story – Born in Philadelphia, Pa. and raised in East Atlanta Ga. rapper Mill Tick3t is breaking ceilings and claiming his place in the music industry. With musical influences like Jay-Z, OutKast, Jadakiss, and Beanie Sigel, Mill Tick3t has a unique sound and an inspiring story. He starting rapping at the age of 8 years old and got in trouble with the law in 2014. Every day while in prison he began writing so much that he now raps without using a pen and paper. After his release from prison in February 2018 he began to take his music to the next level. With hit singles like “Run Up a Bag” and opening up for acts like T.I, O.T Genesis and Lil Keed, Mill Tick3t is quickly becoming a known name in the Atlanta streets. He is currently working on a project with DJ and Host Ferrari Simmons and DJ Ant Durty in addition to booking shows across the south. His record is currently in routing at Streetz 94.5 in Atlanta. Mill tick3t is not up next, he’s what’s happening right now, and with his label GreatFellaz Music Group, he is taking over the rap game by storm.

We got Mill Tick3t to weigh in on a few things

From the outside looking in, who is Mill Tick3t?

Mill Tick3t is a GreatFella, that means everything I do is GREAT! GreatFellaz is my label that I signed myself to with my manager. Together we build the label, and everything is GREAT.

What brought you to the entertainment industry, music specifically?

My older brother played a huge impact on me and my music career. I looked up to him because he did music and he was only a few years older than me. I honestly just started loving music the more and more I got into it.

What does music do for you?

Music soothes my soul, and it tells my story. When I was locked up in prison I used music as a form of therapy by writing and staying to myself. I kept me away from the crazy s*** that was going on. It isolated me and helped me focus on my music and how I wanted to do it.

Tell us about your current project

Currently, I’m working on my album sponsored by Streetz 94.5 Atlanta host Ferrari Simmons & Fly Guy DC entitled “Who Is Mill Tick3t”. This album shows my growth and lets the world know who Mill Tick3t really is. It will tell my story; the good, the bad and the real.

For new listeners, what song of yours would you pick as an introduction to you as an artist?

I would have to pick 2 songs even though you said a song, but it would be “Run Up A Bag” feat. PopLord and my other song “Pump 5”. I picked Pump 5 because it’s about when I was going to prison, how and why I went to prison and it breaks down my whole story. I also picked Run Up a Bag because it describes my story of when I got home from prison, and memories before I went to prison. Everyone can relate to wanting to get a bag by any means whether trap, rap, or working a 9 to 5. Everyone has their own way of running up a bag. Both songs are on all streaming platforms and featured on my mixtape The Meal Tick3t hosted by DJ Ant Durty which was released.

Tell us a bit about your work and passions OUTSIDE of music…

I’m currently working on a documentary, it’s called “Who Is Mill Tick3t” same title as my album. In the documentary, I will be discussing my life, who I was and who I’m becoming. Also, I’m getting more and more into acting. I have a few auditions that I’m working on as well as some back to school drives, and a celebrity football game for the kids to give back to the community. Its important for me to stay connected to my community because that’s where I came from. I’ve seen how easy it can be to get caught up in the wrong things so I want to show kids that its a greater way to get what you want in life besides the streets.

Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” aka WTF?! moment…

When I see people being lazy waiting on a handout not tryna do nothing to bring in any type of income, like who wouldn’t wanna “RUN UP A BAG” WTF!!! Where they do that at???
