Actress And Songtress Simonna Talks NCIS Los Angeles Season Finale & More

Lithuanian-born, award-winning singer and actress Simonna was recently featured on the season 10 of NCIS Los Angeles. The episode was the season finale; it also featured Catherine Bell, Eric Christian Olsen, and Linda Hunt. During the episode, the object was to locate a group of ISIS sympathizers aboard the USS Allegiance. Also, Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt) enlists her friend, Lieutenant Colonel Sarah “Mac” Mackenzie played by Catherine Bell, to help obtain information from a Russian diplomat.  In this episode, Simonna played a mistress.

Simonna recently spoke with The Hype Magazine on how she was able to land the role on NCIS. Also, she shared some of the things we learned from her co-stars while on set. Finally, she drops a hint about her recent photo shoot.

Can you tell us how you were present with the opportunity to be apart of NCIS Los Angeles Season Finale?

I don’t have an agent, so I had to research for the director’s email and their social media. I reached out to some of the people, and the director saw my resume and letter. He looked it over, and he called me in for a reading, and I landed the part.

Do you know if you will be returning next season?

You never know, but at this time I don’t what their future plans are. Even though I can’t comment on that right now, but I would love the opportunity to work with them again in the future.

Can you tell us what it was like working with Linda Hunt and Eric Christian Olsen?

It was really amazing to be on set with those great people. Linda is one of the most amazing actresses I’ve ever worked with. She is the most professional of the most intelligent woman, incredibly talented actress, and wonderful person. She is a real example, an inspiration for many actors. I’m just honored I was on set with this iconic actress.

Eric finished shooting his scene when we’ve arrived on set with my co-stars to shoot ours. I’ve met him and got an opportunity to hang out while the set was being changed. He was one of the nicest people I’ve met. I am very excited I got to meet him and be on the show, NCIS LA together.

But I can easily say that the most I’ve learned from the amazing director Dennis Smith. That man is a genius! He is the best director I’ve worked with and just watching him directing was the biggest lesson of all. I hope I’ll get a chance to work with TV shows more and work with directors like Dennis.

Can you talk about some of the things that you learned from Catherine Bell that you would like to implement into future roles?

I must say, I’m so surprised how friendly and professional Catherine is. I’ve got a chance to spend more time and chat with her more than with other cast members because all of my scenes were with her. And I can admit, I’m very impressed by her. Just how professional she is, how hard working and nice, how amazingly well she treats everyone around.

I’ve learned so much from everyone on set, not just Catherine. Greatest quality work, intelligence I’ve learned from Linda. Catherine impressed me with her wonderful talent and friendliness. I am so amazed by how she does it all! Family, tv shows, movies. This is someone we can call a superwoman. She manages to do it all, finds a perfect balance between work and family, is really stunning and very. Definitely an example for me and I look up to her. Catherine’s career is amazing, and I hope my career will be this awesome someday too.

What is your routine as you prep for a role in comparison to you creating music?

I can tell you that the biggest difference between acting and singing, between movies and music, is that when you are writing songs or you are performing, or you are singing – it’s you. You give your entire life; you tell your story, you give your emotions. You share your own experience and feeling with people.

When you are doing a movie – you get the part, you have to follow the script. In movies, you get the character, and you have to represent the character so emotions, feelings,  story – it’s your character’s, not yours. And that’s the biggest difference between acting and singing.

I love acting so much. It makes my life so colorful. I love challenging myself with new characters. It’s so exciting for me to get apart and become a character, be someone else, feel like someone else, behave like someone else. I’ve been singing for over 15 years now, and it sometimes started to feel like a routine. But now, when I’m working with movies more – it just fulfilled my life. Now when I have music and acting – my life is complete.

I always wanna work, if I could, I’d work with movies and music 365 days a year because it’s my dream.

You recently did a photoshoot with a motorcycle is this for an upcoming project that you are working on?

This photoshoot was very exciting! It really shows a lot of me, who I really am – bold, confident and strong woman. I am a Sagittarius, a fiery person. I can never sit still. And this photoshoot really represents that side of me.

My main point with this photoshoot is to show everyone that the sexiest, most beautiful things a woman can have – is confidence.

I can share this; this shoot is representing a few characters I’m gonna play in a few even new projects — a bold, sexy, strong woman. So stay tuned! New projects will be announced soon!
