Electro-rock artist MORRISON survives “9 Lives” in new music video

Miami-based electro-rock artist Megan Morrison (aka MORRISON) releases her new music video for “9 Lives”, a melancholy but memorable single that reveals the artist’s troubled past and her ability to overcome fear, loneliness and pain. The video depicts the artist in various morose settings, including in a graveyard with body-less hands reaching up through grave sites, as an old-time lounge singer in black velvet, and as a crystal-adorned queen with her crown ablaze in fire. The scenes of the artist dancing with skeletons is the most intriguing, suggesting the character has danced with death on many occasions.

As inspiration for the song, Megan reflected on her life experiences of bouncing back from troubled times. She sings in the song, “I’m like a cat ’cause I’ve lived 9 lives / This time around I’m okay to die / My life’s been trouble…and lovely.” Morrison describes, “Now that I’ve overcome that feeling, I have new freedom and I’m able to look back on my life and appreciate it for everything that it was. Where I am now is the best place I’ve ever been.”

“9 Lives” is the second single from Morrison’s debut solo album, Appetite for Freedom, set to fire off later in 2019.
