Isiah Thomas, Chairman and CEO of Cheurlin Imports Partners with AT&T Humanity of Connection and Essence to Celebrate the 25th Essence Festival

New Orleans, LA – NBA Hall of Famer and Chairman and CEO of Cheurlin Imports, partnered with Essence Communication Inc. and AT&T’s Humanity of Connection, to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Essence Festival by serving Thomas’s Cheurlin Champagne as the featured Champagne of Essence Fest from July 5th-7th in New Orleans, LA.

Cheurlin Champagne was served the AT&T’s Humanity of Connections Kick-off event, “Bubbles and Brunch,” which was co-hosted by the National Basketball Players Association and The Shadow League, and honored Traci Otey Blunt, SVP Corporation Communications, NFL;  and Michele Roberts, Executive Director of the National Basketball Players for their trailblazing careers as philanthropist and women in sports.

“It was important that I partner with a corporation like AT&T Humanity of Connections for my participation in the 25th Essence Festival,” Thomas said. “Connectivity is a part of what holds our communities together. Having the opportunity to honor Traci and Michele for their groundbreaking careers as entrepreneurs, philanthropist and women in sports felt like the natural message we wanted to connect and convey to our audience.”

Cheurlin Champagne was also served at the Beauty Bar, a VIP experience for festival attendees who visited the Beauty Carnival; a curated experience of beauty influencers and health and wellness experts, in celebration of Black Beauty.

“When producing Cheurlin Champagne, it was important that I focused on making a product that would drive awareness of the actual nutritional health and ingredients found in alcohol. We are in an age where people are becoming more aware of what they eat and how their diets impact their overall health,” Thomas said. “That’s why I chose to make a product that had low to no added sugar and would combat the ‘hangover’ feeling consumers get when drinking some other champagnes.”

During the celebration, Thomas also participated in a toast with Richelieu Dennis, President of Essence Venture and Jack Dorsey, Co-Founder of Twitter and CEO of Square at the Black Global Economic Forum, a panel where seasoned business moguls and inspiring entrepreneurs illuminate the road ahead towards building economic empowerment and generational wealth.

The champagne was also served at a series of other events through the festival, including The Black Wine Experience, along with AT&T Humanity Connection leadership events that highlighted legendary leaders like Al Sharpton and Marc Morial.
